SRPP

I am planning to make a modification of ZV9. Because I don’t need big output, and I don’t want to use expensive parts, I am planning to use a 20V 5A switching power supply per channel (originally for laptop PC transformer). I bought 4 heat sinks originally for Pentium D, one for each of LU1014D. Because it is not a big deal to isolate P4’s heat sink from the case, I can use silver grease instead of isolating washer. But I am not quite sure if LU1014D can handle 25 Watts with this setup.
The other concern is the sound quality. Plain vanilla SRPP circuit (may be with NFB) is much simpler than ZV9, but simpler circuit does not always mean better sound. ZV9 is carefully designed by an expert, and proven by number of users. Aleph’s active load is more complex than the constant current circuit, but ZV9 is modified from Constant-current to active load, yielding more output, lower distortion, and perhaps better sound.
